Q: Can a review be performed on a product that I no longer have?
A: We will perform product reviews on certain claim types, including mortgages and secured loans, where you no longer have the product. We have accepted instructions to review products taken out as far back as the late 1980s. For specific product types please refer to the overview for the specific product FAQs.
Q: What does the review fee cover?
A: The review fee covers the review costs incurred by Help4U Client Review prior to a solicitor taking on a claim. The review fee is payable at the time of signing the client agreement. Help4U Client Review will take no payment prior to assessing the relative chances of a successful claim. The review fee is refunded should a claim be unsuccessful (subject to Terms and Conditions).
Q: Can I have a discount if I pursue a number of claims?
A: Unfortunately our costs remain very similar regardless of the number of claims you submit; each product review is handled as a separate case and each review and / or claim can progress at different speeds. However, we do want to try and thank clients who pursue more than one review or claim with us and offer a discount on certain product reviews for existing clients. You are classified as an existing client if you have proceeded with one or more reviews. For specific product types please refer to the overview for the specific product FAQs.
Q: Is success guaranteed?
A: It is not possible to guarantee success with any kind of claim. However we will refund your review fee, subject to terms and conditions, should a claim be unsuccessful.
Q: When do I need to pay the fee?
A: The initial discussions with a representative and the initial work we conduct in assessing the potential claim’s chances of success are on a no obligation basis. After your discussion with a representative we will underwrite (vet) as many potential claims as you wish. Once you have a ‘yes’, ‘no’, or ‘possible’ answer from our underwriting (vetting) team you will have a choice of whether to proceed with each claim. The appropriate fee will only be payable when you instruct us to proceed with the review.
Q: Are there alternatives to the Help 4U Preston Ltd service?
A: There are ombudsmen schemes such as the Financial Ombudsman Service and other official means that can be used directly as a means of obtaining redress.
Q: What are the timescales for the process?
A: Each case can vary dramatically in the time it takes to complete, with much of this variation being related to the speed of response by the lender. Most claim types are now expected to last between 12 and 18 months from Help4U Client Review being instructed to proceed.
Q: Will I be ‘blacklisted’ by the lender if I make a claim?
A: If you make a claim against a company then, under ‘treating customers fairly’ rules, you should not be treated any differently to any other client. However, when making a claim against a current product we do recommend that you have alternative arrangements in place or available for this product or service should the lender (or product provider) choose to withdraw the product.

Q: Can I still use my card?
A: We recommend that you should stop using your card once starting your case so as not to prejudice your claim. You should continue to make payments in the same way you were previously making them before starting the review process and ideally, should not incur any further arrears on the card.

Q:Who is a 'qualifying client'?
A:If you have instructed Help 4U Preston Ltd to proceed with any full price Product Review (£495) from the 18th October 2008 onwards, Help 4U Reverse Bank Charges will pursue claims against personal bank and building society accounts where you have incurred charges with no fee.
Q:I am not a client of Help 4U Preston Ltd. Can I still use Help 4U Reverse Bank Charges to pursue a bank charges claim?
A:Yes, a fee of 15% of the amount refunded will be payable upon success. Why not speak to a Help 4U Client Review Representative and find out if a Help 4U could be started that would qualify you for a 0% Help 4U Reverse Bank Charges fee?
Q:What if I have more than one bank account that has suffered charges?
A:If you are a qualifying client, Help 4U Reverse Bank Charges will pursue claims against as many of your account providers as you wish.
Q:Do I still qualify for the 0% fee if pursuing a joint bank account?
A:As long as one or more of the holders of the joint bank account qualify, Help 4U Reverse Bank Charges will not charge a fee.
Q:I qualify for the Help 4U Bank Charges 0% fee, can you claim against my partner’s own account as well?
A:If you are pursuing a joint qualifying claim with Help 4U Client Review then Help 4U Reverse Bank Charges will pursue bank charges claims for both of you.
Q:Can a Review be performed on a business account?
A:Currently the service is for personal accounts only. |
